So i am still trying to hopefully have a Spring garden sales event either at the end of April or the beginning of May. I'm not sure if it will happen, and if so, it will probably be fairly small. At the moment i have 6 varieties of cantaloupe and watermelon I have started in plastic cups, as well as flax and nettles, and 3 kinds of strawberries(which i started too late and will probably not fruit this year), also i have some trays of mixed flower seeds from Mom's garden. I'm probably going to keep all the large baking trays for me to personally cultivate and collect seeds from later, as well as probably also all the nettles and flax cups. However that leaves the watermelons and cantaloupe cups, of which i expect i will only be able to plant and care for a portion with the goal of having a produce sale at the end of June or beginning of July. I Also, have a collection of a bunch of other seeds I plan to start momentarily with the goal of contributing to a produce sale this summer(i will make another post about this soon). That makes the current potential offering of 6 varieties of watermelon and cantaloupe starter plants for a Spring sale. The list is as follows:
4x Watermelon Jubilee *
5-10x Cantaloup Heart of Gold *
5-18x Watermelon Moon and Stars *
32x Watermelon Crimson Sweet **
32x Cantaloupe Sierra Gold **
8x Cantaloup Sugar Cube ***
24x Watermelon Sugar Baby ***
Notes: Not all cups have germinated yet and i suspect some of the first cups i seeded will likely fail because of the crude nature I am currently regulating the temperature this season(i have not yet installed automatic vents).
* seeded 3/15, longest maturing,(i suspect some of these will not sprout)
** seeded 3/27, medium maturing
*** seeded 4/03, shortest maturing
That is all for now, I hope to see you in the orchard this Spring!\
